Bio / Background
DESCRIPTION:
The Seth Chaplas are an Instrumental Rock band based out of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Seth Chaplas were started in 2005 at the insistence of Drummer Anna Kremenliev and Rhonda Kinard who heard Seth Chapla's rough drafts of a few songs, and wanted to start a band. The Chaplas booked their first show before having a name, so friend/local musician Kevin Ahmadi, who booked the show, thought the name "The Seth Chaplas" was funny, due to the long history of Seth Chapla talking about himself in the third person, and the obvious hilarity of pluralizing things for bandnames (such as a proper noun) that are not well suited to such purposes.
BIO:
Not much is known of the individual members of The Seth Chaplas, their pasts are shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and their extreme facility at their instruments has spawned several far fetched theories as to their origin:
One theory is that they were born from the swamps of Louisiana...
↓ more ↓That the Earth Mother (fearing that the precision and expertise that had once been acheived at traditional rock instruments was waning in favor of sissified songs with "words" in them) in her infinite wisdom created three individuals with a propensity for rockingness that was unparralelled in the world.
Another theory is that they are indeed not of this earth. Some skeptics claim that what they can do with their instruments isn't "physically possible for a human", and after one listen, you might agree with the sentiment. However, after seeing them live (which you should do) all doubts will be laid to rest. This is why some theorize that The Seth Chaplas are indeed aliens from outerspace, sent to earth to teach earthlings how to rock again.
The final theory, (and the one I'm most inclined to believe) is that Seth Chapla, Anna Kremenliev, and Rhonda Kinard are three music nerds with too much time on their hands...
So now that you're properly introduced to the band, stick around, listen to some tunes, and buy our CD!
