Singer-songwriter Semyon Kobialka, using a cello as the primary melodic and rhythmic instrument, has taken his original compositions and two covers and created songs that sound unlike anything being played on the radio today.
Bio / Background
From classical cello competitions around the country to San Francisco/Los Angeles clubs and coffeehouses, cellist Semyon Kobialka's musical sound has evolved into a species unto its own. His unique technique of strumming the cello and singing original compositions defies classification of any genre of music. His new CD, Wabi Sabi, with twelve original compositions and two cover songs, encompass the range from traditional singer-songwriter to musical savant. By inventing a novel way to play a classical instrument, Semyon has developed something truly unique in the music business -- a new sound with mass appeal.
