The London-based three piece who combine an eclectic mix of Trip-hop Rock and Jazz to form one of the most unique sounds to come out of England in years.
Bio / Background
Second Person was formed in early 2002 and comprises singer/pianist Julia Johnson, producer/bassist Mark Maclaine and drummer Al Lopez. This band brings together elements of Hip-Hop, Jazz, Drum’n’Bass and Rock fusing them with strong song writing to form a unique sound that is Post Trip-Hop.
Described as “The next big thing” by The Independant (UK): this English three-piece contrast beautiful vocals with dark bass lines, sublime piano riffs and powerful beats. Their emotive song-writing style, killer hooks and distinctly lo-fi sound has lent itself perfectly to picture and their music credits include a set of feature film scores, work for numerous international broadcasters and film companies.
Second Person are as good live as they are recorded, capturing the beauty and emotion of their songs whilst not loosing the complex sound-scapes and space that have defined their sound.

Album was OK, love the beats and the piano, the vocal leaves a little something to be desired though.

I already knew this band for the album "The Elements", and so I also bought this one. I listen it when I study, that means it's a music who does not interfere in my head, it's simply a 'background' who accompanies me without distracting me. I would say: calm, quiet, relaxing ... 5 stars totally deserved! =D
