Instrumental - A fusion of Pop, funk, rock and jazz. Guitarist Scott Tarulli mixes the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Herbie Hancock, The Meters and Steely Dan. Slammin funk, rock and earthy ballads all get equal billing on this debut release.
Bio / Background
Scott Tarulli has been a session guitarist around Boston for 8 years. Tarulli spent time on the road, in the studio and in clubs with various funk bands, blues groups, singer songwriters, and jazz acts.
Tarulli continues to perform around Boston as a sideman and with his own group. He is also a faculty member at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches private lessons, Styles labs and ensembles.
Tarulli is focused on songwritng on this new CD. The songs are not mere vehicles to show off chops. The music will appeal to both musicians AND non-musicians.
Here is what some have said of Tarulli's playing.
"Scott's Rockin' and Ballad approaches suck you in rather than stun you. Themes, textures, mood and melody all get equal billing, making his a musical, not just a guitar statement."
- John Stix Editor for Guitar For the Practicing Musician
"Guitarist Scott Tarulli (and band) exhibit their considerable chops and versatility for musical interpretation on this cool sounding disc.
