Bio / Background
Scott Schweiger's Music Career started at the age of 14 when he began performing for a music and youth gathering in the Tri-Cities called 'The River'. He participated weekly at this event for over 4 years, which eventually grew to a crowd of over 500 people attending every week. "This was where I fundamentally developed as a musician", says Scott. "I had a chance to not only perform in front of a large group on a continual basis, but also to grow with the band and find a comfortable and fitting music style for myself." When 'The River' came to an end in late 2000 Scott took the experience he had gained and began working with his first band "Back to One". It was with this band that Scott recorded his first studio album released in 2001, a 5-track record entitled "Shimmer and Fade." It included two original tracks written by Schweiger, 'Reminiscing' and 'I Wonder.
↓ more ↓' Back to One toured throughout the Northwest until late 2002 when the members decided to go their separate ways to pursue college careers. While in school Scott continued writing, but spend a majority of his time traveling and working on his degree in Business. Since Scott's graduation in 2004 he has moved to Seattle, WA and spent a majority of his time gathering material for his first full-length solo studio album entitled, "Colorful Thing". With an expected release date of March 2006 this album pieces together songs written since his involvement with Back to One as well as fresh songs written since his time in Seattle. "Its really my first chance to fully express my music the way I hear it best." Scott says of the album, "I've always worked primarily with a group on a music project, but have never taken it to this solo level and am excited to see what works out." Working closely with producer, David Loy and percussionist, Josh Carper, Scott brings to the record a variety of songs. From folkish 'Colorful Thing' about the frustrations of miscommunication and relational difficulties, to 'A Sign' a ballad arguing against time and mortality. While Scott's primary focus has been on production of the album he has begun performing and will be booking shows throughout Seattle upon its release in 2007! Stay tuned for more from this artist in the future...
