Delivering explosively beautiful indie-rock from the Northeast, The Scenic Route is a band defined by its boundless creative energy and passionate harmonic vocals.
Bio / Background
Formed in Newark, Delaware in 2004, The Scenic Route is an indie rock band featuring Jeremy Beck (lead vocals, guitar), Jason Brezski (guitar, vocals), and brothers Jason Ciccaglione (bass), and Michael Ciccaglione (drums, vocals). The Scenic Route is a band defined by its boundless creative energy. Completed songs are rarely rehearsed because when these four musicians and friends assemble, the simplest guitar noodling groove sparks the fire and they find themselves ambushed by an onslaught of new material.
The Scenic Route is influenced by many diverse acts such as Interpol, Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Shiner, and Tool. The Scenic Route's vocals are characterized by lead singer Jeremy Beck channeling the harmonic melancholy of Sigur Rós through the intense passion of vocalist like Cedric Bixler Zavala (The Mars Volta) or Maynard (Tool), often backed by ghostly ambient 3-part harmonies.

When asked about The Scenic Route's sound, drummer Mike Ciccaglione says, "If you cross the Mars Volta and Sunny Day Real Estate, you'd get something pretty similar to what we have. One common factor we all need is some mystery. We don't want to create math problems, you need to feel it immediately, but there needs to be some mystery."
The Scenic Route released their debut e.p. (Self-Titled) in July 2005. The new e.p. features four songs produced by both The Scenic Route and Matt Muir (Palais Royale Studios, Bryn Mawr, PA).
The Scenic Route is currently booking shows in DE, PA, NY, NJ, and MD.
