What some of the protest songs are about:
This Time: About the illegal War on Iraq, the continuing Occupation of Iraq and 'War Criminal' George Bush's arrogant declaration of victory last May.
Not in Our Name: Kind of self explanatory, this song was inspired by the massive anti-war protests and world-wide opposition to the war on Iraq, with the major theme of 'Not in our Name'. It exposes the real 'Axis of evil' - Tony Blair and George Bush.
Not as They Seem: This song is about the backward media portrayal of the war and other resistance struggles around the world, such as the Palestinian Intifada and the Iraqi resistance to the ongoing occupation (ordinary people being portrayed as terrorists, when they are only resisting illegal occupation).
Only Starlight: Dedicated to the brave women, men and children in Palestine who are fighting to end the Israeli occupation, which is a brutal example of the tragedy of imperialism in the Middle East.
Truth Be Told: Dedicated to the women who hang out at the park on Spencer Ave., this song is about ongoing poverty and homelessness, endemic to capitalism.
Trigger Happy: Again, needs very little explanation, this song is about the irony of the claims of the United States to be fighting to protect themselves and the world from weapons of mass destruction, when they are the only country to have dropped the "Bomb."
Warchild: About the tragedy of children around the world who are forced into war.
Power of the People: Taken from the popular chant (born on the streets of Seattle and echoed at anti-war and anti-globalization protests around the world) this song was inspired by the struggles in Argentina, Africa, Bolivia against corporate globalization, the FTAA and capitalism in general.
Revolution Song: About the Better world we are all fighting for.
