Bio / Background

My music blends folk, blues and country, and mixes in a dash of whatever environment I'm currently surrounded by.

Growing up in North Carolina, my family was always playing music, and my desire to explore various styles was inspired by listening to such great artists as George Jones, Dolly Parton, Mahalia Jackson, Etta James, Otis Redding, Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, and Nina Simone to name just a few.

While living in New York City, my music had an undeniably urban influence which now has quieted and expanded spatially because my home is now in Arizona where the sky is seemingly as wide as the world. I love the exploration of new sounds and styles, but throughout my journey the base elements of folk, blues and country are still planted firmly in the foundation where I write from.
