Influences from all angles produce Americana and roots rock with contemporary heart.
Bio / Background
Like many bands, The Sandrails met through various newspaper ads and Internet listings. After going through various lineups, losing 4 guitarists (not all at once) a couple of singers (moved out of state), and some bass players (Dear John letters), the current line-up is complete.
The senior member of The Sandrails is drummer, Paul Bartal. It was Paul that saw the band through 16 months of different line-ups and band names. Along with David Levin on guitars and lead vocals, and Bill Boyd on bass, The Sandrails are establishing themselves as one of the best original bands in Phoenix.
When asked to describe The Sandrails sound, what can be said is that when 3 musicians, with different influences work toward the good of a song, they come up with a sound that is all their own. Some say it is a mix of Americana, Pop, Rock-n-Roll, with a touch of country and punk thrown in for good measure.
↓ more ↓The Sandrails aren't big on labels or comparisons, but they can assure that their sound is their own and they will bring you out of your seat. With a large assortment of originals with intelligent lyrics, guitar driven hooks, and catchy melodies, the best time to see The Sandrails is live.
