Bio / Background
this bio is taken from sam lohs bio page at

Ì was born in Corryong, Victoria Australia. I lived in the heart of the snowy mountains until i was 15. Moved around the east coast until i moved and settled in Adelaide. I ended up here by pure chance. I needed a change and only new one person when i pointed my car this way.
I was a little clueless for the first couple of years living in Adelaide until i met Adam Budgen and started playing music on a grass roots local level in Bands called Blue harmony and Breathe. I was introduced into the world of singing in Harmony, started really writing my own songs and loved the muso world.. I knew i wanted to play from then on. Then i started playing in Fruit and my whole world changed.
INSPIRATION
My dad, My sister and all the muso's i have had the pleasure of working with since. I believe that the day i stop being influenced by others and my surroundings is the day i stop playing music.
↓ more ↓WHY GUITAR!!!!
My dad played music throughout my younger years. There was always music in our house and dad was always playing gigs. back then i had no desire to play music, i had my eyes set on competing in the olympics. But when my sister started playing the guitar, i decided i should too (i guess i wanted a lot to be like her). Once i picked it up and started teaching myself and writing songs i really couldn't stop.
TOURING!!
The reality of touring is so far from what most people would like to believe. it is hard work, it's lots of travelling, many months away from loved ones, but the biggest difference i feel is that in order for us to remain sane and to physically and mentally be able keep up stamina we have to look after ourselves. It is rare that we party late and get drunk and my idea of an exciting thing is not drugs and getting laid it's green veggies and getting paid. (very bad rhyming please excuse) With that said. I think that touring in this manner allows us to soak up the experience far better than if we spent the next day recovering all the time. Peace love and mung beans to all.
HIGHLIGHTS SO FAR!!
Seeing whales in Alaska, meeting Joan Armatrading, every festival we have ever played.... Actually, if i tried to describe a few highlights it would take away the impact. I really have had such a rollercoaster of a life playing music, there really are too many.
When i was in year two, i danced and mimed to 'walk right in, sit right down' (By Dr Hook i believe. i'm sure i've got it on tape somewhere, and when i do find it, i will burn it)
SCARY GIG!
We were on stage in Amsterdam, had just finished the first set. I was in the toilet doing what i needed to do and the toilet was two flights down back stage through this little rabbit warren. So i was in the middle of "toileting'' when i heard the gong sound of the beginning to Guardian Of Sin
- the guys had started without me. I felt sick. I pulled up my pants and ran like hell trying to remember how to get back to the stage. Meanwhile Catherine had been gonging for ages, Scotty had wandered on, played a bit of bass, then wandered off again. I have no idea what the crowd was thinking. I finally found the stage and as i stepped on to join the others and it was pointed out to me that there was a toilet right next to the stage all along.
if i wasn't a musician i would be a florist, actually a flower deliverer.
when i'm seventy i see myself Older, wiser, with the same sense of humour, with good friends around me. I would like to leave the world softly.

Sam Lohs is the best songwriter of the three singer-songwriters in the band Fruit, and her solo cds are predictably strong.
