Bio / Background
I chose the name Sakti (Hindu for “power”) partly because none of this music could be composed without electricity and because music is simply electrochemical signals in your own brain.
This album (fank) was composed in the high desert of New Mexico. A lot of it just has to do with being in harmony with nature and being silent (mentally, physically, etc). Birdsong in the mountains inspired “Birdy Bassline.” Quaking aspen and the image of someone furiously dancing inspired “Leaf Shake.”
My primary musical influences are Aphex Twin, Autechre and Squarepusher. I hope they won’t be insulted.
