MetalRaw.COM Review of "Stendhal Syndrome" in Venezuela
Few bands lack a definition as far as style goes when trying to label them because they go for original signature sounds. Such is the case of Rusty Eye, part Punk-Metal, part Extreme Metal, and other ingredients that make them unique and incomparable if you try to fit them on to a specific style. Rusty Eye's career started in Mexico (founded by bassist/singer Mr Rust) and it's been a couple years since they been in Los Angeles where they have been developing an impressive local buzz playing non-stop in the Angeleno circuit in venues such as The Key Club (with Metal Skool), Knitting Factory (with The Big Ball Stars, Vixen) and the world famous Whisky A Go Go (with Moonspell and Katatonia).
"Stendhal Syndrome" is the latest release cut by these talented young artists, and a shortly before it's release they put out a live album "Live at The Joint MMVI".
↓ more ↓"Stendhal Syndrome" is actually a double feature, the first is new material (five songs) and the second is older material that was not released previously in full length format (three songs from the "Cryogenic" 3" Ep). One of the particularities of Rusty Eye is that the vocals are mainly in charge of drummer Miss Randall (the only female member in the band) and are wisely mixed with bassist Mr. Rust's vocals. It's worth mentioning that besides her instrumental participation, Miss Randall is also in charge of the Production of this opus. In a nutshell, you'd appreciate the accelerated rhythms, the raw multi-style vocals and the very metallic guitar sounds. If you like Motorhead, Rusty Eye should drive you crazy!
