Bio / Background
After its conception in the mid-90's, Rusty Eye developed a reputable cult following in the Heavy Metal scene in Mexico City. By the year 1999, Rusty Eye had accumulated an important amount of demos and bootlegged material, but never cut down a record. Rust N' Roll was then recorded in the year 2000, having to struggle in the most absurd ways. For example, the band encountered engineers and recording studios who wouldn't record the band because they were an American band who sang in English in Mexico. In addition to this, the band's sound was -in their words- "too distorted and chaotic", unlike most of the mainstream Pop Rock bands that were considered "socially acceptable" music. The band then decided to hire an engineer and produce this recording, having a few technical frictions along its production. The members who recorded this album were: Mr. Rust (bass & vocals), Dr. Eye (guitar & vocals) and Leo Haze (drums, tabla & keyboards).
