Down On The Spirit Farm 12th Anniversary Edition has been re-mastered by Trevor Sadler at Mastermind, produced by the author/composer/performer, Martin Jack Rosenblum, for this Anniversary re-issue, and features an alternate version of a song and a substitution of another.
Originally, Down On The Spirit Farm was too long for the technology of the day and the songs that have been added, one to provide a better notion of the album intent in the first place and another to offer a different perspective on one of the album's primal tracks, along with new depth of sound and clarity for all seventeen tracks (totaling over seventy-six minutes), make this classic album not only come back to life but live better with truer invention and finer presentation.
Before there was Alternative Country, that sound was on this album; Little Steven of Springsteen's E-Street Band said at the time that if there is such an idiom as Art Rock then this album is it.
