...low-tuned drums pound jungle rhythms/battered little amps scream for mercy/"for concessions I commit transgressions" boasts the man with the brimstone halo... Shallow Man - Root Deco
Bio / Background
Root Deco evolved from a trio forcing '60's B-sides into houses of ale repute. Now Paul Johnson (vocal/drums) and Larry Vilchek (vocals/guitars/harmonica) unleash a self-penned sonic assault as an electric duo.
It is their observation that the Golden Age of Music happend circa 1960-1967 after which self-empowerment gave way to self-indulgence and eventual self-destruction. Root Deco, rather than being a 60's revival group, considers what it does "60's revision" - as in "nice concept but can we skip the drugs and poor hygiene and maybe get it right this time?"
Simply stated, the group believes that only through the precise alignment of rhythm and melody will our species be elevated from the Age of the Caterpillar to the Age of the Butterfly.
