Bio / Background

This is the second Rob Price quartet record, following 2004's At Sunset, which featured Ellery Eskelin, Trevor Dunn and Joey Baron. The music on the latest recording of the quartet, now with Jim Black on drums, is more agressive and less traditional in its approach. The eight pieces on this CD were written specifically for these musicians and each of them brings astonishing power and inventiveness to the recording. Passionate and unpredictable, with an extremely broad range of dynamics, textures and sounds.
