Bio / Background
Rob Mayes graduated from University School in Hunting Valley, Ohio in 2003 where he was able to showcase his talent on stage and in the realm of music. Upon graduation, he moved to London, England for a year in order to continue studying Philosophy and to act, both in dramatic and musical theatre. Upon departing Dulwich College in London, he traveled Europe and then returned to the States. At this time, he prepared himself mentally and physically for the Naval Academy, which he would enter in June of 2004. While preparing for the rigors of Indoc, he became a Certified Personal Trainer and established a large client base at nearby gym. Following, he entered the Naval Academy. It was here that he began to write songs featuring acoustic guitar. This was a new transition from his upbringing and training as a jazz pianist to a rock, folk acoustic sound. Through much introspection and reflection, Rob decided to depart the Academy during his Youngster year (second year).
↓ more ↓Upon returning to Cleveland, he made it a point to return to his talents in the Arts. Recently written songs were to be recorded. In order to fund the project and life outside the walls of the Academy, he would resume his modeling career. And, to stay current with acting, he would land a lead role in an independent film, while continuing to perform on stage in current shows "The Full Monty" and "A Man of No Importance" at the Beck Center in Lakewood, Ohio.
