the Narcissist is Rory's debut album, recorded and mixed between Juneau, AK and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. It's cold music with a warm heart, Tori Amos meets Oingo Boingo, or perhaps 80's synth pop in a Victorian music salon. Abrupt melodies and insistent piano riffs frame the supple and focused vocals. This album is from outer space.
Born and raised in Alaska, Rory is part of the reemerging trend of music school dropouts turned singer/songwriters. From classical roots springs pop music with long melodies ala Rufus Wainwright, poetic license ala Tori Amos and androgynous soul ala David Bowie and Annie Lennox.
