Solo piano album by keyboards wizard from Yes - was number one in UK New Age chart - establishing the genre for piano albums in the UK.
Editorial review
This is a re-recording of Wakeman's first solo piano album, changing the running order and adding four new pieces. The performances here are busier and more ornate than the originals, but are seemingly played with a bit less assurance. The recording quality is better than that of the original, but the sound of the piano itself is less resonant. ~ Stephen Raiteri, All Music Guide
Bio / Background
Born in Perivale, Middlesex, England, Rick Wakeman's interest in music manifested itself very early, and from the age of seven on he studied classical piano. At the age of 14, he joined a local band, Atlantic Blues, the same year he left school to enroll in the Royal College of Music. In 1970 joined the Strawbs and in 1972 joined YES when they released Close to the Edge - the rest is history.
