This solo instrumental effort from Rich Marcil relates ten new compositions to the listener through the use of harmonious and encouraging spiritual new age music. From the Edge is somewhat reminiscent of the early John Tesh recordings but often alludes to many other world music and new age guitarists, such as those playing transcendent and therapeutic musical philosophies. Rich Marcil plays the 12-string acoustic guitar, mandolin, E-bow, electric guitar, and bass guitar and created the percussion tracks using Loops for Acid. Song titles such as "Persistence of Time," "In the Moment,""Forefathers," and "Passage" suggest Marcil's thematic use of a subject that is slowing disappearing -- time.
