Bio / Background
About Richard Toups
I was born on July 31, 1953, in Houma, LA. I have 35 plus yrs. of experience in music. I am a singer/ songwriter/ percussionist, who believes that music is a gift from God. A godsend. I have performed and recorded with local talent (artist and songwriters), to superstar headliners, never forgetting where my roots are. Have also performed from the Fibark Festival, on the Arkansas river, in Salida, Colorado, to the 5-star hotels in Miami, Florida. I started singing in the 60's, at the age of 14, and performed with a local group called the living sound, in the 70's, the Levee Band, which ultimately became Louisiana's Leroux, and Madonna (a soulful rock group). Also, started recording jingles, from the 70's to the 90's. Recorded jingles at the Jam Factory, in Gramercy, LA, U.A.R.
