Contemporary classical with pop, jazz, rock influences
Bio / Background
Richard Bellak writes music combining aspects of classical, jazz, pop and rock. The 12 jazz preludes and fugues in FUGAL DREAMS contain elements of each of these various styles. The fugues-one matched to the style of each prelude-are authentic 3 and 4 part fugues. It's something new from the standpoint of fugue as a musical form. In the words of one reviewer, the Jazz Preludes and Fugues in FUGAL DREAMS are "amazingly accessible and enjoyable". (Note-allowing the track samples to play to the end will make it possible to hear, in most cases, some of the fugue that follows the prelude) If FUGAL DREAMS intrigues, there's another imaginative CD by Richard Bellak called MIXED DRINKS.
