100% rock/ 0% fat - mostly peanut butter with only a little bit of jam. Who says a song has to be five minutes long?
Bio / Background
Who are we? A Supergroup composed of the singer from Loverboy, the guitarist from Dexy's Midnight Runners, the bassist from Alice in Chains and the drummer from Bow Wow Wow. Really? No. Just 4 guys from the Philly area - Jason, Phil, Steve, Frank (currently), Rick (on CD). We have added Mark, the saxophonist from Romeo Void, but you'll have to check out our new release, Five on Blue, to hear him.

LEFT OFF THE DIAL (www.leftoffthedial.com)
Restraining Order's Last Time You Took Me Back was much fun to listen to. The 14-track release is chock full of talented musicians playing to quick tempos. I enjoyed each spunky track from "More Complex Than Sex," to "Drop That Bitch," to "Allergic to You."
MUSIC DISH f/k/a THE GLOBAL MUSE (www.musicdish.com)
A little ska, a little alternative, a little rock, and a little pop, and a little punk for good measure. That's what you'll hear on this album.
↓ more ↓Restraining order is one of those bands that took a pot and threw in a handful of mixed genres to create their own sound. The end result is a great little punk/pop concoction that is full of energy and witty lyrical spurts. Put it all together, and you have a very good sound that rings with originality and attitude.
SPLENDID E-ZINE (www.splendidezine.com)
Despite the band's best efforts to the contrary, Last Time You Took Me Back somehow manages to work. ... taken as a whole, the fourteen tracks on The Last Time You Took Me Back prove to be nothing short of decent rock, with a measure of pop-punk added to surprisingly good effect.
ROCK IN PENNSYLVANIA (www.rockinpa.com)
A little punk, a little pop, a little rock, a little ska, and maybe even a little speed metal?! Philly-based original band Restraining Order has the bases covered with a unique sound, hilarious lyrics, and quite possibly the coolest web site I've ever seen. Check 'em out!
IMPACT PRESS (www.impactpress.com)
This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm on review number 10 jillion and I need something fresh and simple -- kind of like drinking hot Sake to clear the palate. Enter Restraining Order. They're a rocking pop band, as they'll tell you, and they even dabble in some acoustic and ska stuff. They'd do well opening for Weezer.

**************A SHORT STORY BY RESTRAINING ORDER*********
About our CD...
From the Studio to the Stereo
A long, long time ago, (actually September 29, 2000, but it feels like a long, long time ago) the four-man band called Restraining Order arrived at Studio Crossroads in Edgewater Park, New Jersey to record their debut CD. Although they were armed with many songs, they knew it was going to be a long and difficult journey fraught with danger and perilous traps to avoid, such as "You sound just like every other band," "I just heard a drum punch!" and "Did you record this in your basement on a 4-track?" They persevered anyway.
With their trusty guide, producer/engineer Mike Capriotti, the band attempted to bypass all these traps and others using a 48-track analog and digital studio, amplifiers, microphones, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, brushes, a bass guitar, a harmonica, a female temptress and a hooter (the musical kind). They encountered many obstacles during the last several months including ear pain, headaches and karaoke night at Mr. Armadillo's, but managed to emerge with an original 14-song debut CD, "Last Time You Took Me Back." Please feed it to your stereo now.
*************ABOUT OUR NAME********************************
We wanted a name that sounded provocative. Each of us suggested numerous names, including Double Meat, Rubitucci, the Accidental Florists and Productive Cough, but none had that oomph we were seeking. When we were searching for a venue for our first gig, we spoke to a bar owner who was extremely rude to us. We later learned that he had a restraining order entered against him. Phil suggested Restraining Order as a band name and the rest is music history.
