"RHBT puts an original spin on a classic pop sound. Great melodies with strong hooks, intertwined with harmonies...accented by ethereal sonic realms. Great music to drive to." - Kevin Hanson, Popular Philadelphia Guitarist and former member Huffamoose
Bio / Background
Red Head Betty Takeout has garnered a loyal following with their at once energetic and laid back performances. Their recent audiences have ranged from Supreme Court Justices, to Barflys, College Students to Billionaires, Senators, Friends, and regular folk like you and me. One way to describe their sound would involve intricate vocals and guitar work that create complex but accessible melodies without over-production or hype.
The new EP, entitled Solace Sessions, explores a vast array of emotions and musical textures, while still maintaining a pop-centered acoustic feel. Early reviews of the EP touch on the quality of the songs, as well as this new band's potential:
"Hypnotic and compelling, with melodies drifting on the border of a dream-like state. I personally like this direction the band is heading."
- Baker Lee, Columnist/FOH Magazine
"One of the strongest unsigned bands I've seen in the last 10 years...this band should be on the radio.

"RHBT puts an original spin on a classic pop sound. Great melodies with strong hooks, intertwined with harmonies that slip and slide, accented by ethereal sonic realms. Great music to drive to!"

About the songs:
Good Gone
A hypnotic, dreamy tune about letting go and deciding to move on, knowing that WE ALL deserve better...and finding courage to begin the next chapter: "So be good when I'm gone."
Seagull
Emptiness, frustration, the beach, then solace, then soaring. Acceptance involves solace in the form of hope, and this song attempts to make sense of it all. There's some success: "Don't you worry...I've come full circle."
Blue T-Shirt
Love and its seemingly inevitable loss...at least that's the feeling this song explores. Melancholic bass and falsetto voice feed the lyrics. ""What's it like where you are?"
Light Won't Tire
Borrowing the up-tempo found throughout their last EP, Light From Somewhere, this song elaborates on the idea/feeling of hope as it explores coincidence and the beauty of how things come together, even when it feels like they're falling apart.
2am
Why am I up at night? Why this insomnia? And what is the rest of the world doing at this hour? This song taps into the work of John Keats for some help. "It's 2 am and 2 pm...all the time, I am never sleeping, always sleeping."
