Bio / Background

Ricardo Chiesa is a gifted thirteen years old flutist that has been described as a virtuoso by the press and public in Puerto Rico. He was born in october 30 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His repertoire fluctuates betweeen jazz and classic, having performed on stage in 2005 with flutist Nestor Torres in the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Fest, with jazz percussionist Paoli Mejias in 2006 and with the Puerto Rico Symphonic Orchestra in 2006 and 2007. His appearance at the 2005 Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Festival makes Chiesa the youngest musician to step up into that stage. He is currently under the mentoring and guidance of flute professor Ruben López, which is a member of the Puerto Rico Symphonic Orchestra. Ricardo's first CD, titled "Paso a Paso Entre Amigos" (Step by Step Among Friends) was released in late june 2007. In this production bassist Ramón Vazquez participates as composer, arranger and as musician.
