Bio / Background

"Bassist Jason Raso debuts with a one-man band project designed to showcase his considerable talent on the lower register. The obvious reference point here is Bootsy Collins, as Raso switches between slapping style, synth-y 80's funk and melodic bass playing. The Bassman Cometh is entirely instrumental and Raso's challenge is to make the music interesting beyond appreciation of his expert technique. He succeeds."
