"An absolutely beautiful debut ... already a contender for Album of the Year in my opinion!" ~Bob Harris, BBC Radio
“Music from a woman whose name no longer will be in the category of noble unknowns. Don't miss the train, readers, you might miss the whole ride - and that would be a shame!” ~Rootstown
"IT'S A CRACKER!" ~Miles of Music
"...warm rustic tones and beautifully crafted songs. If I had a front porch I'd sit out on it and listen to this disc all the time." ~Drew Dundon, KMTT, The Mountain
Rachel Harrington has been doing things in the wrong order for quite some time. She had extensive radio airplay before performing her first live solo show, and she opened several concerts for Grammy winners and nominees before her debut full-length record was even a glimmer in her eye.
Reared among the Pentecostal pines of Oregon, Harrington's roots shone through on her 2004 living-room demo.
↓ more ↓That humble four-song EP spent 13 weeks on the AMA chart and garnered the Seattle siren stellar reviews.
Now, from the crossroads of country, folk, and bluegrass, comes her debut, The Bootlegger's Daughter. Released May 2007, Harrington's freshman effort is a literate, richly storied Americana journey through a gently heartbreaking landscape of grief, hope, and regret. The sonic result is, as one DJ so eloquently put it, "Mountain spring pure - and campfire warm. Featuring some of the Northwest's finest musicians, the disc is co-produced with two-time Grammy winner Garey Shelton.
Rachel typically performs live as a duo or trio with Zak Borden (Willy Mason, Casey Neill) and Mike Grigoni (Korby Lenker).
Guest musicians on the new CD include:
John Reischman (Neko Case, Tony Rice)
Danny Barnes (Tim O'Brien, Dave Alvin)
Marty Muse (Dwight Yoakam, Robert Earl Keen)
Zak Borden (Willy Mason, Casey Neill)
Bob Rice (John Lee Hooker)
Mike Grigoni (Korby Lenker)

Great old time bluegrass to dance to with this wonderful artist. Great vocals with uncluttered backings set the scene for a night out under the stars. Exceptional lyrics and very well produced. Recommend highly Greg from Perth ,Western Australia
