XEN BREAKS
----------
Stands apart altogether, expressing a solid individual cross genre sound contesting for larger sound systems.
Almost everything you hear is original sounds created from scratch with an analogue synth called Clavia Nord Modular, like the percussion, effect sounds, sequencers, bass and melodies. The few remaining sounds origin from Roland JV1080 or mac-speech (voices).
↓ more ↓Mostly processed with Cubase's VST effects/recording studio. (see instrument list).
On this album most songs are based on funky break beats or syncopated back beats. Though three of the songs are based on a straight kick with the the back- and brake-beats lingering inside the sound (also see 'Cosmic Embryo Electronica' album).
Short Bio
---------
As a 10 year old Ricky took battery lessons (drums) where he picked up the basics from an elderly old-school jazz drummer who, unfortunately, had a slight drinking problem. The latter became the reason for Ric to quit after a two years. Bought a bass-guitar few years later and started slapping it together with a drummer and a keyboardist. The first band was borne (still in school age).
Brought up in a prosperous late 70's Sweden, he had access to music technology from the very start. In those day's even the garage bands where well equipped with everything an aspiring musician/composer could dream of.
Experimenting with audio and music technology, also in traditional studio environment, has always been a part of his life. He made theatre music and environmental effects, for radio stations as well as performance groups in Scandinavia. Played with bands as a bass player, studio jobs or keyboardist gaining experience from a world of rock as well as electronic music. Embarked different set-ups like playing live synth together with DJ's, or as an effect/melody keyboard player with bands ranging from rock, funk and Celtic music to reggae and ethnic.
QUBENZIS
--------
was born in the mid, late nineties. Probably acquiring the Nord Modular was the real trigger. Opening the gate to analogue sound shaping. Qubenzis is original electronic music shared by the two albums XEN BREAKS and Cosmic Embryo Electronica
Realm Of Sound
--------------
Coming from a background of underground music where the sound is regarded as a source of pure energy. The carrying universal vibration is a 'sound'. The sub-atomic world is held together by 'sound'. A life without sound doesn't exist. Even the deaf experience sound and the effects thereof. We're all wallowing in, embraced by and slaves to sound on one level or another. External sound vibrations will only be taken over by internal sound vibrations but the definition 'quietness' is but a metaphor for a level of vibration. Sound is very real. It consist of a body and soul that can be measured with very simple physics.
As any physical and spiritual object sound, as a vibration, destroys and creates in the universe of matter and beyond. To control sound is to control a vibrational instigator which will effect any- and everything it comes in contact with. On the vibrational spectrum chart sound is covering it's own domain as well as light, radio-activity, x-rays or any other field setting molecular structures in motion.
The primal sound for us humans is the heart. The heart beat is the first rhythm (in the material plane) and will be with us through our whole life. Though most people usually spend most of their lives in an environment far to noisy (more sounds) for being able to hear their own heartbeat. Even thoughts do produce virtual sounds that can be heard and reproduced by the listener. The noise level of thoughts can easily reach a level high enough to distract the listener from 'hearing' what's going on around themselves in the outer world.
