Electro trash cock rock
Bio / Background
PUNK BUNNY specializes in palpably vital electronic music that's both is forward thinking and pays homage to their electro-conscious forebearers (Kraftwerk, ABBA, and NEU!) and peers (Peaches, Fischerspooner, Amy Grant & AIR). Their blend of brash sexual lyrics over progressive, syncopated beats appeals to the electro clash generation. Their unrepeatable sound is highly popular in the electro scene, which is especially thriving in Los Angeles. They add their own distinctive flavor to equally entice the more adventurous listener.
Anchored by guitarist /vocalist, Luigi and vocalist chanteuse Jizzmin, PUNK BUNNY augments their outrageous live performances with high energy and hilarious choreography. The sexual nature of their lyrics combined with the provocative onstage interaction between the band members brings a whole new level of unspoken sexuality.
Punk Bunny began their musical collaboration in the early 1990's with Marble, a bare-boned, urgent, classic punk band.
↓ more ↓Marble's hard rockin' highly charged concerts at The Roxy, The Whisky and The Troubadour earned the group legions of fans. Marble shared the stage with such giants as Debbie Harry, Rage Against the Machine, X, Throwing Muses, and Ozomatli. By early 2002 the band felt that they had gone as far as they could musically and called it quits.
From that PUNK BUNNY was born. Luigi and his sister Back Alley Sally continued making music , then 4 years later she decided
to take another direction. During that time Jizzmin and Pinky joined
the band.
Luigi and Jizzmin’s sonic aspirations evolved into a more complex electronic sound. PUNK BUNNY music is a master mix of the past and the future. The cool electronic sounds of Kraftwerk coupled with lyrics containing the sexual frankness of Prince, are two of the key elements found in the band's music. Dirty guitars, dance club beats and disco handclaps are thrown into the music mix.
Punk Bunny’s delivery of the lyrics to the funky song "Mustache Ride" have been known to send the girls (and some of the boys!) into a frenzy. PUNK BUNNY has hit on a winning combination that has them playing to enthusiastic crowds throughout the U.S.
PUNK BUNNY has worked and shared the same stage with Peaches, The Hacker, John Waters, Joan Jett, Electrocute, Superstar Dj Keoki, Junior Senior, Blowfly, Leslie and the ly's, Madd Mike, Electrosexual, Brad Walsh, Barry Weaver, James St. James, Feezepop, Har Mar Superstar, Hawnay Troof, Mount Sims, Celebrity Skin, Judy Tenuta, Avenue d, Snax, Shira Girls, and other incredible acts.
PUNK BUNNY has Played numerous shows in there hometown Los Angeles. They've also toured all across the U.S., Mexico and are currently touring Europe.
Independent local radio stations have rotated their music non-stop, as well as top worldwide djs. Several magazines & fanzines have reviewed their material. Indie films have used their music as their soundtrack. They can also be found on the most popular website at the moment myspace.com/punkbunnymusic
