Bio / Background
The Pseudo Philosophers are an up and coming Gothic Progressive Rock/Metal band based in London in the UK.
The band consists of The PhanTom (Vocals and Guitar), Finlay (Lead Guitar), Andy (Drums, Keyboards) and Sam (Bass Guitar), who are currently working on their debut album, while performing in and around London...
Originally formed in November 2003 and reformed in January 2006, the band have gone through a steady transformation while still holding three of the four original members, PhanTom, Finlay and Andy. They have gigged in the likes of Brighton, Reading, Hastings, Central London and sunny old Croydon throughout the years, including venues such as the Black Sheep Bar, the Marlborough Theatre, The Rock Garden, The Standard Music Venue, the Caernarvon Castle and The Underworld.
↓ more ↓Having many varied musical influences, including progressive and traditional rock, goth, funk, darkwave, metal and jazz metal, to name a few, the band have experimented with the different styles to induce a somewhat 'new old style' sound. This experimentation culminated in the band's tentative first album in 2005, which included songs of an alternative rock feel, yet showing aspects of a medieval darkwave concoction with an overall experimental flow..leave that to your imagination. The album was created within the original line-up, only reaching completion at the end of 2005. It never saw its release to the public.
2006 saw the introduction of the insane bassist Sam, resulting in the creation of a disturbing combination of two sets of brothers, The PhanTom and Sam, and the branded "Brothers Grim" Finlay and Andy..
Their album is set to be released at the end of 2007.
