Catholic Christian rock music - Seminarian style. Pop in the CD and enjoy the ride.
Bio / Background
The priestie boyz are a group of Roman Catholic seminarians studying for the priesthood at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. We strive to return our talents to the One who gave them to us. We believe our music is a prayer, and we hope it is a prayer for those who hear it as well.
Our album Lost in Ecstasy was a six month labor of love, recorded and produced at 'klm studios' in Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. Many hours were spent recording and re-recording guitar tracks, drums, vocals, bass and other instruments (all 100% live!). Then many more hours were spent mixing the tracks until each one was as close to perfect as we could make them. Finally, with great help from C.W. Dent, we mastered the CD to make it sound as awesome as possible, and distribute it to the world!
From the liner notes:
"The Priestie Boyz were started in January of 2004. While traveling home from the Pro-Life March in Washington D.C.
↓ more ↓, Derrick Flannigan had the idea of starting a band made up of seminarians and, after having shared this idea with Anthony Podesta, the band began playing and writing music (then Derrick, Anthony, and Charlie Backer). Since its beginning the Priestie Boyz has included various seminarian members, all of whom have an appreciation for music and a deep love for Christ and Holy Mother Church. The band has performed at various venues, including Saint Louis University, Crossroads Music Festival, and at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary."
Every song on this album was written sincerely and from the heart, and we hope that you'll find inspiration in each one. Anything you like about our CD, we credit to our Creator, who fashioned us to know, love and serve Him alone. We ask that you pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in addition to purchasing our CD. For tons of great info, pictures, and more, check out our website - www.priestieboyz.com.

deep and theologically sound lyrics, ok music, inspirationaltgz wrote on July 07, 2008
I usually don't listen to "Christian rock". I am more of a classical or older sacred music listener. This being said, I bought this album because I had the samples on my Itunes folder and kept listening to them. The sound could be better (the music is actually very much ok, the mixing could be better, but I guess they had limited means to work), but one can feel the intention, the lyrics are theologically sound and inspirational, and sung like they are truly meant and maybe that was why I kept coming back to the samples and ended up buying the album. My favourite track is Proelium Angelorum, but I am suspect because I love Latin :-)
