Bio / Background
Enter the Mystery is Michael Popenhagen’s first self-produced album, recorded in his own studio in Southwest Michigan. Having recorded the entire album in his studio rather than live, this album proves to have higher production quality than his previous works and contains much more independent artistic expression. In this project, Michael displays broader lyrical expression in his songs that goes beyond a typical worship project. With ten of the twelve songs being originals written by Michael, listeners will be able to understand and relate to God in new and refreshing ways. He says, “Songwriting is a tool to journal my discoveries of God as I see Him revealed in countless ways. My prayer is that these songs give voice to your heart and help you connect with this awesome, loving God who dwells within us.”
In the song “Since Jesus Came Into My Life,” Michael pays tribute to longtime friend Del Shannon, famous for the hit song “Runaway.
