Gypsy Jazz, Vocals and Instrumental
Bio / Background
Reynold D. Philipsek is a veteran Jazz guitarist from Minneapolis. His back catalog contains over 15 titles ranging from traditional jazz to bop to gypsy jazz. His work has been favorably reviewed by Guitar Player Magazine, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and Vintage Guitar Magazine. Bistro is the follow-up to the well-received Grey Chalet.
It has been five years since Reynold released a record featuring vocals and it has been delivered with his latest CD, aptly named "Bistro." While not exclusively a vocal CD, it displays an unusually wide selection of interests and influences.
Still bearing the key influences of both gypsy and American jazz, Bistro captures some of the spirit found in the music of both the 1950's and 1960's but still keeps true to Reynold's consistent quality of recorded material.
