Bio / Background
Talk about getting a lot for your money! Wow! "Peter and Ellen Allard have recorded 27 short, simple, and extremely effective Early Childhood songs. The CD starts with two "hello" songs and then moves into fingerplay songs for the very young. Includes must-have-in-your-repertoire staples such as "Five Brown Buns," "Popcorn Chant," "Five Green Apples," and "Five Plump Peas." Then on to some clever and user-friendly movement songs and chants including "Wake Up, You Sleepy Heads," "Andy Pandy," and the wonderful "Oliver Twist," which features funny sound effects to go with the movements. There are also some Allard originals such as the adorable circle game "Skip-a-Doodle."
The teachers guide contains scores and some clever follow-up activities. There is a wealth of story program material collected here, so librarians and teachers might want to consider purchasing this recording.

-School Library Journal, April 1998:
"I can tell you this from personal and professional experience - you want to own all of Peter & Ellen's CDs! Anyone parent who loves to sing with their kids AND any teacher who knows the value of music in the Early Childhood classroom should own this and every CD released by this dynamic duo. They are fantastic - and they know exactly what kind of music kids AND grownups like to listen to! Catch them in concert too - their performances are fantastic!"

What you are doing, musically AND educationally, gets my highest ratings. I appreciate having had the opportunity to learn from you both.

I felt I came home with a year's worth of planning for my toddlers and preschoolers who will benefit greatly by your infusion of ideas and guidance. My director is going to be thrilled with all that I will share with her and ultimately with our children....the real lucky ones!
