Bio / Background
I grew up in a home filled with music. Whether it was listening to or performing Broadway show tunes, Celtic songs, or folk music, all the music found a welcome in the Monaghan household. Most of my brothers and sisters share this connection to music. My older brother Mike sang in a folk music trio. My sister Patricia transcribed the lyrics from more than 1700 songs, so we could all sing them. My other sisters Eileen and Terri often sang us younger kids to sleep with those same songs. Lullaby features many of the songs that I grew up with and came to love with all my heart.
Peggy Monaghan
Peggy Monaghan is a versatile and accomplished singer/songwriter with strong ties to Celtic and folk music. Raised in Alaska, Peggy began her musical career in the San Francisco club scene in the early 1980s. After returning home to Alaska, Peggy found herself performing in numerous venues, producing records, and teaching voice.
