Bio / Background
I grew up in a musical house hold. My mother made all six kids learn to play piano.I started writing poetry at age 10.At age 12 I wrote my first song. I also started playing alto saxophone at age 12. I played in various bands throughout high school. I was always in the school talent shows. As a teen-ager I started performing at weddings, anniversaries and parties. I have performed at many clubs in the Memphis area including on Beale Street. I have performed with saxophonist Mark Baker sang background for Miles Jaye and Melissa Morgan as well as performing with many local Mid South artist. This is my first solo project. My music is about love and relationships. I think everyone can find something on this CD to relate to. Whether you're in love, have lost a love or are looking for love you'll like this CD. It also has some very good dance songs. Especially for all you steppers. If you're in the mood to be alone with that special someone this is just what you need.
↓ more ↓I love performing live because I like to interact with my audience. I want you to feel like I'm singing just to you. This CD will make you feel good no matter what type of music you like.

Review of "Tonight" by Xavier P. and RadioIndy.com!RadioIndy wrote on October 18, 2007
Paul Phillip’s “Tonight,” is an impressive collection of R&B tracks. The CD features excellent song structure, compelling lead melodies, groovy beats and mature, well-developed lyrics. Moreover, Paul’s silky smooth timbre is irresistible! “September” delivers a great musical hook, a rockin’ electric guitar solo, and a heavenly arrangement of background and harmony vocals. “You’re The One” opens with an incredible acoustic guitar arrangement and tells a heart-wrenching story of genuine love. Song after song, Paul manages to transfer his passion to his listeners. Putting the finishing touches on “Tonight” is production that discovers a brilliant balance between Paul’s emotion-invoking melodies and contagious musical grooves! Fans of Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross will undoubtedly find themselves hooked on “Tonight”!
