"California, laidback, lyrically clever, feel good music that's both fun and introspective."
Bio / Background
Music has always had a profound impact on me, which I think was inherited from my grandfather. I was about seven years old and noticed how much he loved music. I remember seeing him in his living room chair, eyes closed with headphones on, listening to mostly classical records, sometimes waving his hand in sync with the rhythms and melodies. Now that I am older, I can understand his appreciation for sound and how music took him to a place in his mind where he was comfortable.
I have played the acoustic guitar for about seven years, and began scribbling and singing lyrics to chords I was playing as soon as I was able to actually do this simultaneously. I hit up Open Mics as often as I could, not because I had any huge dream of making a living someday at the craft, but because I found performing to be exhilarating. I became addicted somehow, and for the past 3 1/2 years I don't think I've gone an entire week without performing on a stage at least once. It's something I want to do . . .
↓ more ↓something I have to do, at least at this point in my life.
Over the past couple of years I have met other musicians at the places I have been playing, musicians who I deeply respected because of who they were and what they had accomplished in their lives with regards to their music careers. All of these guys are role models for me ,and I am so happy they agreed to be a part of my first album. A special thanks to the producer of the album, Paul Tchounga, who also plays drums and percussion on the record.
Respectfully,
Paul
