Bio / Background
While Angela Strehli and Lou Ann Barton were in Austin at Antone's, Patti Sterling was in the Dallas/Fort Worth area playing the Greenville Ave Strip and along the Jacksboro Hiway. Patti, the grand niece of '20s Texas governor Ross Sterling, was a transplant from LA, so, when she was accepted into the Dallas studios, she spent literally 24/7singing radio ids and commercials and performing with the cream of an amazing talent pool in the Metroplex - including Whitey Thomas, Bill Tillman, Mike Hanna, Gary Willis, Mack Dougherty, Lyle Mays and Pat Coil, Patti did some background arranging for Stevie Nicks, Alex Harvey, Mike Settle, and Kin Vassy. She opened shows for Point Blank, Ray Stevens, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Patti, a high energy performer, sang lead with Jack Calmes' Chickenhawks, doing STAX R & B tunes with a band of Blood Sweat and Tears veterans.

She started an all original band called Patti and the Satisfires, and began to play the juke joints, and roadhouses; Fast Edddie's, Daddio's, and the Hop. The band developed a little buzz, much of which came from the now grammy winning producers Wally Wilson and Gary Nicholson's involvement with Patti's career. Wilson produced a video of Nicholson's "Do You Have An Alilbi" starring Sterling and a cast of all local artists, which became a staple of the programme at Angus Wynn's Club Redux.
Sterling recieved good press from Buddy Magazine, and the Dallas Observer, but still looked for that chance to move forward. Ultimately, she moved back to LA to find a deal with KonKord Records, the baby of Estus Patterson, a former Malaco artist. Believing her gifts would be fully appreciated at KonKord, Patti Sterling signed last June and is currently promoting her first release, Bettin' On You.
Patti is a weekly winner on the BET Network's JAZZ DISCOVERY Program
