Bio / Background
Patti Casey has earned her spot as a fixture on the Vermont folk scene through sheer talent and hard work, and the rest of the folk world is beginning to take notice of this charming New Englander with the Patsy Cline-ish touch. A native of Vermont with strong Irish roots (her dad still has a noticeable accent despite being born on American soil), she has long been driven by a sense of tradition. A prolific songwriter, Patti has perfected her own New England-flavored bluegrassy style, one that shines equally with the welcome, familiar bluegrass sound and an undeniable originality. Her second solo album, Under Different Skies, reveals her maturity as both a writer and performer and treats listeners to what has been called, "the sweetest voice and some of the finest songwriting to come out of Vermont in the last 25 years" (Vermont Public Radio), not to mention superb backup from members of her regular band, Redwing, as well as a few intriguing guests.
