This work consists of elegant, relaxing arrangements of popular classics from the 1960's and early 1970's done on solo piano in a style featuring a blend of classical and jazz to provide tranquil, easy listening background music.
Bio / Background
As a younger brother of a guitarist who played a great deal of blues, jazz and popular classics from the 1930’s-1950’s, Guy developed familiarity with these styles to complement the classical background obtained from thirteen years of piano lessons. One piano instructor’s tips for creating elegant arrangements of popular classics, combined with listening to more contemporary pianists like Joe Sample, David Benoit and Stan Whitmire, helped strengthen Guy’s skills in the areas of blues, jazz and popular music.
In addition to developing elegant arrangements of popular classics, Guy ventured into recording studio work in the late 1980’s.
