Bio / Background
OUTREMER was formed in the summer of 2001 but some of them had played together for almost 16 years by then. The band now consists of Mikael Jansson on bass, Ola Malmström on vocals, Joacim Olofsson on drums and Henrik Lindenmo on guitar. Ola and Mikael used to play together in the death metal band SORCERY. Mikael was in the band between 1988 and 1991, while Ola played there from 1986 to 1998. SORCERY recorded one album in 1991 and played a lot of shows during the period from 1987 to 1997.
When Mikael quit SORCERY 1991, Ola and Mikael started up a melancholy doom project called FEAR MY SOLITUDE, which released nine cassettes within a 4 year period. The band also got quite lot of underground attention at that time. Joacim played in the band IN AETERNUM until 2001. He recorded two albums with the band and they also went on two 30 shows European tours and a visit to the United States for some shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
