Straight-forward, forthright political punk rock with conviction, questioning the future of our nation beyond the after-effects of terrorism.
Bio / Background
Imagine that this was the country where people from all over came to, to find a better life and a better tomorrow. Imagine that the land of opportunity presented itself with the sight of the statue of liberty her torch peaking over the horizon...
What happened to all that?
Where did the idea of making a better life go? What happened to the spirit of the 60's, the revolutionary ideas proposed by our founding fathers, and why is it a crime now to speak out against what we see as being wrong?
I constantly receive flack for speaking out against this institution, for speaking out against corrupt ideas, and invasion of privacy and every other idea that we base our so-called-freedoms upon.
I hear this "Well if you don't like it here why don't you just move away. Go see what it is like to live a communist state... and all those third world countries and then tell me you still hate this country.
↓ more ↓" I hear that all the time from people who assume I am a communist or anti-American because I say I won't fight and die for my country, because I don't BELIEVE in what we have become as a nation, because I speak my mind on issues that concern me and scare me because so many of the populace just accepts it and moves on...
"Keep our economy growing or the terrorists win."
What terrorists?
They are a figment of our imagination.
I love this country, I love the constitution and I love the city I live in because I CAN speak out, because I CAN voice my opinion and demonstrate in public what I am opposed to. I love this country and all it stood for and I consider myself a patriot. I uphold that which our founding fathers wanted out of the public. We have the means to change our society if we wish.
But letting this monarchy of fear induced terrorism infiltrate our democracy will be the demise of everything I hold dear- my freedom to speak my mind, my freedom to choose my destiny and follow the American dream, my right to be free from persecution, my right to bear arms if I choose- will disappear with the drop of a hat if I do nothing about it.
And your freedoms will be depleted shortly after too.
