Bio / Background
Bobby Acres aka ONE SON, was born in Lanett Alabama, and moved to Brooklyn N.Y. at the age of eighteen to pursue a music career. After playing semi pro football for the Brooklyn Chargers he endured some hard times which led him into enlisting in the U.S. Army. The Army enabled him to live in various places such as Missouri, Virginia, Seattle, Atlanta, and Fort Worth TX. That gave him a four-corner outlook on how people live in different areas, and helped him incorporate these things into his music. While in Texas he met individuals who shared the passion for music as himself. He has released three underground cd's, and has opened up for numerous well known artist such as: Hieroglyphics, Craig Mac, Outkast, De La Soul, The Grave Diggers, Killa Mike, Public Enemy, and Blackstreet. While performing in Austin, TX. he was discovered by Maxine Lewis who is the segment producer for Amateur Night At The Apollo she liked his performance, and invited him to perform at The Apollo Theater.
