Bio / Background
"In live performance, Kimberly Freeman of One-Eyed Doll, combines the rock-star bravado of a Jack White(or Jack Black) with the visual impact of a Japanese Anime... a super heroine that's alternately fierce, outrageous, vulnerable and sweet. Dressed like a punk-metal baby doll, she punctuates her raging guitar work with a a three-foot mane of hair she whips and flails about rhythmically, mesmerizing the audience with displays of physical agility that literally burst the confines of the stage. And similar to the White Stripes or Black Keys, she is accompanied by a lone drummer... If you haven't seen them, what are you waiting for?!"

GETTING TO KNOW ONE-EYED DOLL
One-Eyed Doll is the sweet and dirty amplified product of guitarist/singer Kimberly Freeman, known for her unusually emotional and acrobatic rock and roll.
↓ more ↓Kimberly's big riffs and bigger hair are paired with the force of a mysterious lone drummer named #3.
Kimberly's song-singing and guitar rocking summon the spirits of rock and rollers of the past, including Pink Floyd, ACDC, Black Sabbath and Heart. She attributes most of her inspiration, however to the experiences of her own past, including being a fugitive in a communist country, where she is no doubt still wanted by authorities.
One-Eyed Doll is based in Austin, Texas(in Kimberly's short bus) and has been playing in various forms for thousands of years. Well, at least two...

NEW ALBUM RELEASED JANUARY 2007:
Recorded and produced by Jason Rufuss Sewell at Nebulost Productions and mastered by Eric Broyhill of Monsterlab Audio, "Hole" not only captures One-Eyed Doll's powerful raw, live energy but highlights the creative songwriting and playful imagination of both musician and producer.
Though Kimberly Freeman is the sole guitarist and songwriter of the group, former drummer Scott Sutton is highly present on this album, with bass, drums, backing vocals and even some guitar credit.
This is a full length release packed with favorites such as "Hoochie Mama", "Recipe for Success", "Black Forest", "I love my Little Bus" and more.
Fat harmonies, evil undertones and silly fun collide to make this a one-of-a-kind album that is certain to leave you refreshed and tingly.

WHY "ONE-EYED DOLL"?
This child carries around a little doll from infancy, since he can remember. He loves it as his best friend and even has a name for it. They do everything together. He can't even fall asleep without his favorite toy. He takes him everywhere, even though eventually the doll starts losing it's stuffing and becomes less beautiful. To the little boy, this doll is eternally beautiful and is the source of his comfort and happiness and love...
... until one day when the little boy grows out of the doll and throws it away to sit in a dark corner or landfill for the rest of it's life, remembering the child who once loved it.
Looking back, the doll realizes that he knew this would happen all along. His instinct told him a long time ago that his little boy would grow up and forget about him, but he tore out his little button eyes so he couldn't see that his boy would someday leave him and move on to better toys..
The only eye that doll had left was his inner eye: intuition, instinct, gut, the Holy Ghost or whatever you want to call it. Some call it the Third Eye. Even that one, he shut.. but it couldn't be torn out.
We must always remember that even though we blind ourselves in this life, even though we tear our button eyes out over love, grief, lies or abuse and resist seeing things in this present reality, we must always keep that one eye open.
We can see the past with our physical eyes. We can see the future with our other one, and with it we can manifest a beautiful reality.
One-Eyed Doll.
