This music is a combination of contemporary folk and easy listening. Filled with poetic lyrics, soothing vocals, and expressive piano and guitar, the songs portray the search for freedom and the desire to live in a peaceful, accepting world.
Bio / Background
Emily Nyman bio information
Emily has been writing and performing original songs since 1978. Her musical foundation includes classical piano and folk guitar. During her high school years, Emily developed her musical talents in the Wareham High School Choir and the Young Time Players Community Theater. During the 1980's, Emily performed regularly in various restaurants and lounges in the Upper Cape Region and UMASS Amherst area. From the 1990's to present, she has continued performing part-time at Coffeehouses, fund-raisers, theatre productions, and private functions in the Northeast Kingdom area of Vermont. Unique endeavors include annual musical collaboration with the North Country Union High School Dancers and provision of music for Hospice patients and their families. Emily has appeared on the CBS/WCAX Morning Music Showcase on two occasions. She currently teaches Guitar and Piano classes at the Community College of Vermont.
