Bio / Background
Nellie Eve is a singer / songwriter who grew up in Northern Michigan. Her first lyrics and melodies were created while walking to and from elementary school, or while her mother had the vacuum cleaner on. Her first recording (aside from the tapes of her crying as a baby, produced by her father) was self produced on a tape deck and created as a gift for her first grade teacher.
Ten years later Nellie Eve was writing solid songs on her beloved Alvarez acoustic guitar. She began playing open mic's and by August of 2000 had completed her first full length album. Under the alias "Sleepy Maggie," "Home Before Dark" contained twelve original songs by the songwriter.
After graduating from a wonderful performing arts high school Nellie Eve moved to Chicago to continue her education of academics and life experience. During her first years in Chicago Nellie Eve observed the many different directions she could potentially take her music.
