Bio / Background
Nathan Cook is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter whose music has been described as 'layered magic'. Weaving acoustic guitars, world instruments, woodwinds and turntables with lyrical brilliance, Nathan creates soundscapes of intense and touching beauty.
After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 1997 with a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Composition and Saxophone Performance, Nathan toured extensively throughout Europe and has recorded with some of the greatest musicians in jazz. In the year 2000 Nathan put down his horn, picked up an acoustic guitar and began writing and producing his own songs.
Nathan’s earliest years were spent in Philadelphia PA. Then at the age of twelve he moved to Kansas City. At 17 Nathan attended college in Boston MA and stayed, living and performing in the Boston area for 12 years. In 1999 Nathan relocated to New York City’s East Village for two years.
↓ more ↓He then moved to Tempe Arizona to complete the Master Recording II Program at The Conservatory for the Recording Arts and Sciences, followed by a year of interning at Los Angeles recording studios.
Nathan is currently living in New York City where he continues to write, record and perform.
