Bio / Background
This second major release from My Were They shows the band moving in new directions while still maintaining familiar elements from their previous record. Recorded by Bill Skibbe at Key Club Studios and mixed by Tim Iseler at Soma Electronic Music Studios, After They Threw Me... is the band’s most ambitious effort to date, with the addition of keys and strings to their existing two-guitar interplay and complex rhythms.
…Drowned packs a bit more of a punch than its predecessor. The propulsive beats in ‘big house' and 'sixteen' aren't for rainy alleys, but music venues crowded with sweaty, undulating bodies...
