The Cult of Bob
Bob Moss desperately wants to be famous, but he'll settle for 50 bucks.
by Randy Harward
The idea of fame, inasmuch as it pertains to music and the male, invariably involves cash, cars and coochie-but not for Bob Moss. Although the fortysomething folksinger/artist's talent would allow for more, he has elementary dreams. Stranded in Clearfield with little cash and no car (didn't ask about the other), he toils in obscurity from a storage-shed apartment with a broken toilet. He could shoot for some high life, but will settle for a simple sum. "Oh, I desperately want to be famous," he says, almost to himself. "Not necessarily really famous, just famous enough that I can play around. I don't expect to make lots of money. Where other people dream of millions, I tell my friends I dream of 50 bucks." ...to read the whole article go to: http://www.slweekly.com//editorial/2002/scen_2_2002-04-11.

Here's a City Weekly Review of Bob Moss' Song "NyQuil Habit" from "Headjug": ...when he writes his own songs-as with this tune from his Headjug album, it's usually a bull's-eye. If you haven't already guessed the topic, it's about copping a buzz off over-the-counter cough syrup (specifically, an accidental incident in Bob's past). It's not like this is unique song fodder, but the folksy context and Bob's laid-back wackiness give it a matchless vibe-that of a cautionary ballad and a tongue-in-cheek take on the classroom scare film.
