Bio / Background

The Monday Milkmen are made up of three diverse individuals with musical influences ranging from funk to jazz and everything in-between. Philip Whitfield, who is the chief songwriter/arranger; as well as Keyboardist, Guitarist, and Lead Vocals; Josh Zalev on Bass, and the newest member Djallo Djakate Keita on Drums, form the core of the group, and though you will see them performing as a trio, you'll often find these three augmented by other musicians. This is the other side of The Milkmen. They have integrated the idea of a floating "fourth" member to help create a unique experience for their fans. Many times this "fourth" member is actually several other musicians all gathered together in order to create infectious grooves that capture a crowd. Much like the Grateful Dead, each show is slightly different from the last.

Formed as the brainchild of Philip Whitfield, The Monday Milkmen have been playing to packed houses in both Canada and the US.
